Transformation #5 • Complete Chest-Cutting Smith Machine Workout

Back in the gym with a full chest workout, every set, every rep. This one's all about the Smith Machine – a great way to get in a focused workout without a spotter. If my goal was to put on quick mass I'd be rocking the free weights mostly. But my goal is a lean, mean 220 lbs, cut and balanced. Incorporating some Smith Machine fits in with this goal, and believe me, it was a full-blown workout fit for a champion. This is also a good alternative workout for when you don't have a spotter, or if you're a beginner and aren't ready for heavy free weights. If you're advanced, still give it a try, bang out this workout and pay careful attention to how you feel and respond. LEVRONE TIP: Champions know that EVERY workout holds the potential to teach you something new about your body and your form. The more things you try, the more you learn, the more you master your body. It's great to be back in action and the best is yet to come. The month of April waits for me like a beast in the night. Soon it'll be time to slay the beast. Shirt off, shredded to the bone. TSSHBAM. Luckily, today I had a chance to get more footage than usual, beyond training, to share experiences I hope will have a positive influence on some of you in terms of overall health and nutrition. Speaking of positive influence, thanks to TruthGear for the awesome T-shirt. Definitely check out what these guys got going on at www.truth-gear.com. Also, I got some exciting news to share tomorrow. Awesome workout bro, inspirational as always…& “that’s the truth.” It’s true about quality over quantity & making every rep count with proper/strict form. Can already see the cuts & separation in your arms while you were working out. By the way in the 2nd vid you stated truth slash (/) gear .com, correction being truth dash (-) gear.com. Peace.

Kevin your looking muscular and lean. I would have swore you were a Marine getting ready to be deployed!

  3. callesteve says:

This is one of your best videos Kevin. Super quality, love the post meal vid, fish in Cali baby!

You know you look a lot like the Rock, Dwayne Johnson, in this vid.

  4. Roger says:

These vids were great Kevin. Seriously, you’ve not only transformed your body, but you’ve also transformed your ‘on-screen’ skills. Well done!

Looking great. You’re definitely getting leaner. Can see it on your face easily. I’m cutting down on carbs as well over the next months to lean out. But hunger is my worst enemy. I get extremely hungry quickly and mentally it feels like my muscle is up for lunch.

  5. Spacemarine says:

    Indeed you´re getting shredded.
The last video made me think you have the perfect live LoL.

Training hard, eating well sitting in the sun, looking damn good and driving maserati :D :D :D

    Have a nice weekend Kev!

Thank you so much Kevin! I really needed a video like this from you for motivation.

I have decided that i want to do my first competition in 2011. And therefore im on a “practice cut” right now to learn how to get to that level.

I have been dieting 115 days now.

And right now (Nutritionaly im where you’re at) im mostly eating firbrous vegetables and chicken and taking in som essential fat.

And right now its really hard and im scared to death that im losing what little muscle i have gained. And i was going to carb up..

But you know what? Im not going to im sticking to this another week before carbing up a bit. I WILL reach my goals in time and i’ll keep pushing forward no matter what.

I’ll do this for you, Me and anybody who’s determined to reach their goal.

I have great respect for you Kevin, Peace

Didn’t even check out truth-gear.com. But I do know that’s why you’re my favourite pro bodybuilder. Not afraid to go out of consensus reality a bit, look in the mirror, promote truth. That’s character.

  14. cof says:

Hi Kevin, you’re looking fresh, ready and healty :)

I hope you’ll have time to answer this ,in my opinion, very important question
since you’re doing 2 weeks zero carbs, what supplements do you take to avoid catabolism, like BCAA, or glutamin or something else

DIET (3 grams of protein per kilogram of body mass per day, low carbs) + low intensity cardio on empty stomach 45 minutes + no supplements, what do you think, what are the chances of muscle catabolism

    thank you very much :)

Wow Kevin thats insane. It’s incredible that you can lift on an empty stomach, I know I’m too big of puss to do it haha, and that last of 275 was great. Good luck on cutting up, you’re my biggest inspiration, no lie!

  20. irons says:

Kevin have you ever done this 100% no carb thing since you stopped competing?
I also don’t have access to the sauna, what are the exact benefits in terms of burning fat? should I just jog with a sweatshirt on in the summer morning?
    Thanks, really like the videos.

  21. J55TTC says:

I just wondered if there was any reason why you dont do dumbell flies? Our pec deck machine doesnt look as good as yours however.

  22. moe987 says:

@J55TTC – Yea true, flies would probably be better at giving the finishing touch to the chest, like overall definition and symmetry. Maybe he just likes the pec deck machine a lot lol

  23. rihardssekste says:
