Kai Greene Wins Arnold Classic 2010

Congratulations to Kai Greene. You can read the Men's Finals Review here. Thanks for submitting your guesses – I don't think any of us guessed correctly but it was a worthwhile thread, nonetheless. –  Kevin

Indeed! I still disagree with the outcome….but….Kai was in good shape and is a great, humble and appreciative champion.

Again……..glad I’m not an IFBB judge!!!

  2. Dane says:

    Excellent competition,
Congratulations to the winner, was in great shape!

  3. Pablo Moran says:

    Kai deserves it!
His quads are into a much higher level than Phil´s.

Besides Phil is De-Forming himself, his arms are or look superbig compared to other parts which makes his chest look more compressed, add that to his narrow clavicles and thare you go.
He should control his size a bit more.

  4. irons says:

Phil Heath needs to add for width to his back, dont get me wrong, its big as hell, but when he is standing next to the top guys, it looks much smaller than theirs.
Branch was off with his condition.
I think Dexter looked good, but hard to tell from internet stream
Kai looked good also, his legs and back specifically.

Phil should won the show,i don’t agree with the judges….i never did!
Too much politic in the IFBB Pro shows,Phil was in amazing conditioning and he has the best lines on hearth right now.
Why give the victory to somebody who walks with his ass in the air……..

  6. Lomu says:

Kai sure does love his grapefruits…………

  7. mark UK says:

It said Phil Heath was 240lb on that read up but before that it didnt say that! now im gonna say he needs to be at 255-260lb to win

  8. John M123 says:

Does Phil’s physique remind of Kevin Levrones?? not 100% but their are some similar parts?

Well congratz to Kai.. but I had Phil winning the show.. Kai was a little bit bigger, but condition wise Phil had him. Hopefuly Phil can make a few more changes by the time Mr. O comes.

This photo is an example of what somebody already stated. His arms and legs are to big regarding his overall width and height. And I don’t think he is going to get less massive because of this fact. To be honest, he looks like little freak to me with those big arms and long foots (from videos and photos it looks like that). I don’t see him as a champion in near future.

Comparing him with Kevin Levrone’s proportions is totally out of reality. Kevin is taller, wider, and have much more athlete look than Phil. Kevin was even more massive than Phil (as it is expected because of height difference).

I was disappointed with Dexter Jackson’s form that eve. He looked flat and not sharp enough. Brench Warren looks much better on these photos in Kevin’s link than on webcast I watched that eve.

  10. This is a great post, I stumbled across your post while looking for music news updates. Thanks for sharing, I’ll be sure to come back.

    @ Irons.
I wouldn’t say Branch was off with his condition man. He’s always going to struggle against some of those guys, but I don’t think his conditioning can be blamed, I would say it was just as good as the olympia.

  12. alexM says:

Face the facts Dexter didn’t make any improvement since O. 2008. His conditioing is always ok but that’s all. Only OK, he has to think about his future. Maybe add some mass or try to catch inrcedible conditioning, just try to change something. Phil need some improvements in his back, chest and maybe shoulders width.
    peace, out!

Phil got robbed… He would be an awesome successor and representative for the sport… Bodybuilding is really turning into a circus. Ah well, grapefruit on…

  14. Did you create your own blog or did a program do it? Could you please respond? 82

  15. AlexKid says:

    Phil Heath should have won

hey man, that grapefruit thing is too much man… let the man be… he didn’t do it for fun…
and like him there are other aspiring bbers that have to do that to get money to compete…

  17. Aku says:

I believe we will have a new name added to the list of people who have won the big O! That person may very well be none other than Kai Greene!

  18. Hollander says:

Congratulations to Kai Greene and I have high hopes for Roelly Winklaar the coming years if he keeps improving.

Here’s a videolink of Kevin when he won the Arnold in 1996.

  19. Michel R says:

@Mik: So you’re saying it’s ok to put your values aside to chase (and catch) a dream? I disagree wholeheartedly. There are other guys on that stage, who didn’t need to pull stuff like that off in order to become a champion (or almost)… In the end the winner is always right, but is the winner also a rolemodel? In this case I tend to disagree…

I hope Phil uses this to fuel his fire to finally land his righteous first place… Why not the Olympia this year? Bodybuilding needs a good successor for Jay’s legacy. Phil can do it.

  20. mik says:

    No, it’s not ok.
Let’s call him grapefruit for the rest of his life.

  21. JL2 says:

I think Phil got robbed. He was clearly the best BB on stage that night. Kai was great as well but he was holding a little fluid. Phil on the other hand was spot on.

Dexter may not have been at his best and maybe he didn’t make much improvements but he was still better conditioned than Branch. I mean how can you improve from near perfection (As far as condition). He’s always the best conditioned guy on stage. He just doesn’t have the size. But for his height, I think he is wise for not playing the size game.

Of course this isn’t fact, just my opinion. God Bless!

  22. irons says:

    @Rob
I agree, but the thing is, he came out of nowhere in the Olympia. When he fist walked out my mind was blown. I guess this time around I just expected him to look the same.
Kai did look good, at least at prejudging. Hard to say. I still thing Phil did not look as good as he could of. He is young, the lat spread pose shows this especially, he needs more width on it to keep up. Kai has been working real hard. I dont know if he can pull off an Olympia, BUT Victor Martinez might be back on track with life, so dont forget him as a contender.

  23. Rob says:

Good shout on Victor, man the olympia is going to be crazy again this year

  24. Michel R says:

Fair enough, Mik… I’ll refrain from using the word… Phil still got robbed :P
