It’s been a great week so far. I’m still training hard to get ready to take some benchmark pictures/videos of where I’m at.
This is the essence of bodybuilding and competition. Except right now the competition is with ourselves. All of you who posted are winners.

Arms bigger than your head. Either your arms are big or your head is tiny. I believe the first option is the right one.

Kevin! Your definately one of my favorites of all time,
but since your all natural now your actual neck muscles arnt gonna grow so easy by just tensing up. So I think the one muscle you have been negleting is your neck muscles.
I just think everything about you has crazy blown up you look huge, except for your neck.
What are your thoughts?
I just know I always felt I just never looked right till I started boxing and doing neck bridges and other boxer neck workouts and added some inchs to my neck made all the world of difference when I have my shirt of posing.
In my opinion if you built a thick neck (not including traps since I’m sure those are huge) then you would be at a natural perfection.
What do you think?

Kevin, now you look real ripped, like bb contest contender. Much better then last year after cutting transformation. Last year i felt cheted when i saw yours pics (belly fat) , this year you look amazing and i`m sure that you will show us real cut abs.

Kevin, I would like you to explain us… How can exercise cut muscles?
From everything I learn in my life, and trained in gym, I know that cutting phase isn’t about choice of exercise, only food and supplements.
I am glad you are back into training. When you started this blog, last year, you didn’t look good at all. Congratulations.
Jovan, Kevin explained the why and how higher reps/lighter weight help in cutting muscles up… It’s somewhere on the blog and I’m too tired to look it up. But da man explained it already.
You’re more than correct in your opinion that cutting is on a bigger part based on nutrition and cardio. But gymexercising with the above method is also part of the arsenal of becoming ripped…

Just, I felt I can put my 2p in.
To the above post, about cut&training, I’m thinkin’ cyclist, long distance runner vs say… sprinters ,putters,olympic lifters, etc.
Do they achieve their morphological phenotypes trough diet and/or
supplements , or the specific training of their respective disciplines shift their body composition toward what we can see?
Or , to get out whith rethorical thinking, just give it a shot yourself,
whith the rigth mindset, for a while. Like basic lift low volume,low reps, high intensity,high weight, try to do this on a cuttin’ diet,note down results ,if any. Or try High volume ,high reps ,,relative low intensity,lower weights, see if work for you. Of course diet need to be spot on, and the cardio adjusted until desired BF% is achieved.
then we go back to basic/heavy to keep muscle strong/full, as the diet wouldn’t be so restricted now.
To try to explain it simply, let’s say a “nubret” approach would burn more calories and also shift metabolism toward a carved body certainly more ,IMO, than a “mentzer” approach.

@Michel R -- I meant on specific exercise, not number of reps.
well ya during the “nubret” era, they only did cardio rarely maybe 3x a week at only a couple miles. they did sooo much volume training and were constantly working out that their bodies were burning huge amounts of calories and the steroids they used maintained their muscle so they werent overtraining. today guys get so overweight in the quest for mass during the offseason that they want to spend the smallest amount of time maintaining that muscle in the gym with shorter workouts so they can focus all their time on the hours and hours of cardio needed to burn off that huge amount of fat they put on. so yes if done for huge amounts of volumes 2x a day 6x a week like they did back in the pumping iron era you could essentially burn a lot of calories. but then again thats only if you have the steroids to help maintain that muscle and not overtrain. if you tried to use weight training as a means of getting “cut” without cardio and diet then you would get burnt of very quickly and end up losing theat muscle in the process.

Kevin, it must be feeling great to be in top shape again after so many years. My guess is that you trained just as hard or even harder as for THE Olympia. This shows your dedication, willpower and the fact that you’re really concerned about your fans and all the others that are interested in you and the messages you have.

I’ve been lucky enough to train at gyms where pro’s have been, and when it comes to contest prep they are in another league.
The big L has done it hundreds of times and have no doubt, he will deliver the goods!

As for him getting back into pro competition I feel from Kev’s previous comments that he’s been there-done that-and got the t-shirt already. I have wondered if the lure of the roids might tempt him to go full blown?? Its like could superman ever feel happy being Clark Kent?? Maybe at a mean 220 ripped
Plus Kev walked away from years of competing with his health. As a father and a husband I’m sure he counts his blessings for what he’s achieved and what he got away with i.e. good physical health despite the juice
I have a lot of respect for athletes of any sport who know when its time to change direction and stick with that. This blog is such an insight into just such a man.

Hi Kevin, you are looking great at the moment. Im a massive fan and have followed ur progress from the start of the blog. However, i would like to ask are you going to do another steroid or drug test within the next couple of weeks?
i believe that you are taking some kind of steroid during your cutting stage. i dont believe that you can be doing 2 separate hours of cardio a day whilst aslo weight training. i believe you would have lost significant muscle mass and strengh which does not seem to be the issue.
so kevin im afraid im calling you out and i want to see some legit tesit results?

I would even say that Kevin is now at a much higher level than he was after some months without training after the olympia like he did every year. From this form he could easy start a transformation and stand on the olympian stage again with 250 ripped. But i respect and 100% understand his new goals and i don´t wanted to start the comeback discussion again
he clearly is nowhere near the standard to currently compete at the olympia. he would have to have a major steroid cycle and even then he would probably be about 2- 3 years away from competing at the olympia.

james w, his clean. 100%. If u followed the guy like i have for one year, u would never ask that question. U can trust Kevs word and he doesnt need the steroids and he doesnt want steroid level muscles. Remember this is the guy with maybe one of the best gensets in the world and his muscles recalls everything and his been into hard traning for a year, so it shouldnt be that hard to understand.
fair comments norweigian, i agree with most of what u have said and i have followed the blog since it started, and iv been a massive fan of kevin for much longer than that. im a huge fan of kevin, but i just want to see another drugs test. i find it hard to believe that it is possible to maintain that muscle mass whilst doing so much cardiovascular work. it would give me a lot of motivation if kevin proved me wrong by showing us a drug/steroid test to prove he is not taking something to maintain his mass whilst he is cutting.

I agree with Norweigan, That’s excellent genetics and a complete bodybuilding professional we’re looking at, you can tell he’s clean , if he was juicing his delts would be much fuller and more “capped”.

It is very well known that doping test can be cheated. It is stated many time and it is done many times. All of the time, athletes cheats, some of them fail (read about Marion Jones).
Raw Bench Press World Record is held by Scot Mendelson -- 715lbs. The Drug Tested Raw Bench Press World Record is held by James Henderson -- 705lbs. It’s clear that Henderson was on doping because it is impossible to be just 10lbs weaker than heavily drugged powerlifting record holder.
Do you see the difference?
It’s obvious that that “natural” powerlifting federation is doing tests and it’s obvious that test holds no credibility and can be easily cheated.
So, at the end, it is all about trusting someone. From my experience, long time life & gym experience, I learned that it is best not to speak -- because you just can’t know. Simple as that.
Unless its professional standard (random tests done over time comparable to a profile) drug testing its not worth it and proves little.
The amount of designer drugs has forced the testers to keep samples so they can be retested for new drugs as they become able to test for them, plus a test can only show positive for compounds tested. To test for everything is silly expensive to the point even in the olympics testing has to be done wth some restraint and to just test for certain substances means its easy to conceal things in results.
For what its worth I personally think, Kevin is clean simply because why lie? You are seeing as norway points out someone who has great genetics, knows his body inside out and is also very knowledable to manipulate these facts which is where many are going wrong trying to copy.
As drugs are concerned the lasting effect syndrome is more a topic for interest. Are we seeing, Kevin as he would always have been If never had taken drugs? Steve reeves was what about 210 lean, with the advancement of nutrition and supplements its fair to assume we are and there are simply some that are freaks in certain areas able to achieve this level clean but who knows for sure.

I understand exactly what you mean jovan. i know kevin has great genetics and his muscle memory will help, but i still cant see how he is able to do so much cardio and also weight training on the same days without losing mass. Yes he would become more shredded but i dont understand how it is possible to cut and still remain at the same weight, let alone put on weight. i hope kevin is not using steroids, it would be a shame. i recall arnold schwarzenegger used some kind of steroids in order to maintain mass whilst he was cutting. i am not accusing levrone of definatley taking steroids, but it would be a huge chame if he was, and provides very little motivation to a natural bodybuilder such as myself.
@james w -- James getting ready for a show I would be lost and seek advice. However the levrone in the above video is not only lean but also pumped up while quite possibly carbed up also which would mean dry round full muscles brimming with water, then do we mention the lighting? Dont think its unfair to say as in bodybuilding it is an illusion to a degree so dont be to despondant, thinking negative will only limit personal goals and achievements.

I’ve often thought that the guys at the top in pro BB would still be at the top if there were no roids! Obviously they would look a lot different but they would still be the best.
They simply have the best genes/recovery/attitude/determination.
I agree the lighting plus more definition and pump with perhaps sweat/oil can make a big difference visually to how Kev’s arms look here.
I’ve not heard Kev say he ever works FOREARMS? Even back in the day they looked good but not massively developed compared to say Dorian Yates.

My best motivation and my best gains was at the time I didn’t “listened” to any bodybuilder or read any magazines. For some period, I “listened” some of advices like: listen to your body, “this” and “that” is the right form of doing some of exercises, mind/muscle connection… And all of that, you know.
And when I returned to my old training (2 days split similar to Ronnie Coleman’s training regime) I started to bend barbells and grow. Both in size and quality.
You can’t know what ones genetics is if he/she is on doping for most of his/shes life. You just can’t. Because muscles respond totally different on steroids and GH -- it just can’t be compared with lifetime natural training.
In recent interview for RX Muscle, Ronnie Coleman stated that he regularly took 3 months pause per year (or similar) to rest. Yes, because he can bring back all muscles for 3 more months. Simple, that’s the way drugs works. You just try to take 3-5 months break from training (while training naturally) -- you’ll see what will happen with both strength (strength is of basic importance for natural training and gaining muscle mass).

@jovan- quick question, you said that he couldnt be only 10 away from the heavy doped world record holder. why is that? what is the recorder holder didnt have the best genetics and used steroids to get up to those results but that other guy had naturally genetics that good and if he would have used steroids he would have blown the other guy away that was already on them? thats the same thing you saying with kevin, he has awesome genetics and could possibly blow away a lot of guys on steroids right now. and if kevin started steroids again then we know he would blow up to ifbb status if he wanted to. so how can you say there is no way for a natural to be close to a steroid user? its not like bodybuilding, your speaking powerlifting which doesnt follow any of the same physique standards, training methods, and all the other things that bodybuilding does. thats like comparing apples to a volkswagon… find the comparisons? haha

Thing I wanted to say is that James Henderson was on steroids. And doping tests couldn’t show that because it is clear that tests holds little credibility.
And remember one thing -- if there is a way for athlete to cheat (and go unpunished for doing that), he will cheat. It’s in nature of competing. It’s the essence of professional sport. You all know it’s about money, at first place.

I would be satisfied if you try to answer on my question: “How can exercise cut muscle?” rather than steroids test “anywhere”. You know that nobody cares to place some bet and even if that happened there are two problems:
1. You didn’t wanted to even see Norweigian at USA and train some chest with him
2. Why would you want from somebody to lower your status by going to some bets and doping test that can easily be cheated?
You know about doping tests best because you are IFBB pro.
P.S. I am member of the forum… I just don’t find too much interesting things there to be involved so much. I am good with occasionally posting here whenever I see some fancy show-off posts that are pointless.

James I already put that to rest and experienced people can take one look at me and know that I’m natural. If you want to fund yet another test we can set that up. Your credit card will be charged to the Quest Diagnostics lab of your choice and you can set up the whole thing by phone. Let me know. You can refer back to the old test when I did the mass transformation last year. It wouldn’t make sense to do it now since I was much bigger then, which you will soon see when I post for Levrolympia.

kev i havent got the money mate. i wish i did then i would pay for it. it would provide an enormous amount of motivation for myself and im sure lots of other fans if you are truely natural. fair play if you dont do the test, i still respect you, but i would have just lost a lot of motivation
I think there is no reason not to believe Kevin’s word. If you trully are a member of Levrone community you wouldnt doubt. His statement, that the mass transformation was natural was right and he proved that by taking test. Cant wait to see final results.

To test properly it would take alot more than one test taken one afternoon so forget the test rubbish, but what do you see that makes you think, Kevin isnt natural?
Now it would not bother me if Kevin was taking the gear but really I dont think he is, out of 6 billion people on the planet he has some of the worlds best genetics for mass/symmetry, conditioning and mind set. Taking this into account what do expect him to look like? Do you accuse someone of being a drug user if they are over 7 foot and not if under 5 foot tall? Just accept everyone can be different, its not wrong to be so and doesn’t hinder you reaching for the best you can be, but really if you are looking for motivation and can lose it so easy then maybe you are looking in the wrong place.

@moe- just because some people are doubtful or have questions about this stuff doesnt mean they are ignorant and i think its very ignorant of you to call people our for the questions and concerns they are having. we have no idea whether he is really natural or not. even if he we had 100% proof there are ways around it so if he did take a test its not like we are right besides him when he does it so we never know. i trust him but there will always be people who dont believe it but that doesnt mean they are idiots or anything.

You probably won’t get as big as me, naturally, and there are reasons for that, that range from genetics to muscle memory to expertise, mastery and drive. Unless you’re sweeping natural competitions and being courted by the IFBB right now, I invite you to stay natural for right now and see where it takes you. Work hard, follow and study the Report, get involved in the forum. You may surprise yourself.

@james w and doubters: Just take a look at Kevin in his competition days…than you know how he looked when he was not natural. And don´t think you could look like that on drugs, so why should you think you can look like him natural? Think about that.
im not talking about how he looks, and i know he obviously doesnt look anywhere like what he used to look like. im talking about weight issues. i dont believe that he can increase his weight whilst cutting. i t doesnt make sense, in order to achieve the lean mean 220lbs then he must surely have to have a calorie defecit, whih would mean losing weight. So unless he weighs in at about 210lbs at the levrolympia then i dont believe he has lost much bodyfat at all.

@james w -- James he was heavier at the start so some muscle will have been lost but his knowledge has kept it to a minimum. Also it has taken some time before we see any pictures, on the juice results come alot quicker.
As a natural myself I dont see whats your point as I can achieve similar over that time with consistanty and hard work, just not the level of size on display which is very impressive. Personally I think you should learn how your body responds to certains processes and methods but to test this why not tell us how you personally go about shifting bodyfat? Most simply try to do it too quickly in which case you will fail usually only after a few days.
@polish- dude its not illegal to admit to that. he would get in trouble if he was caught with it and/or the intent to sell and that is only in the US. think of all the youtube videos right now admitting to it and even doing it on camera and they never get into trouble. havent you ever done anything like udnerage drink when you were younger or something stupid? its illegal to do that stuff obviously but we all know we do it haha

Maybe you have right, I don`t know US law. I`ve read somewhere that steroids in US are treated just like narcotics.
In Poland it legally to use and have steroids, only selling is prohibited.
