We had a LOT of comments on the coach videos, some positive, some negative. Anytime someone challenges us to work our cores, it’s controversial. Human nature pulls us toward the impressive looking muscles, chest and arms. Many don’t want to be reminded to work the core.
What Coach Dan is teaching is awesome, and I want you to try both exercises. Get grounded like a tree trunk, solid and strong as a wall. Agile and balanced, in addition to looking great.
Now, back to the Levrone-style training. Ran almost 4 miles in the LA rain. Banged out a killer Chest, Tri, Shoulders, see it below. Also added the 6 Twist as a nod to coach Dan, and core strength in general.
Also announcing the winners of the last YouTube contest. The announcement is in the third video – make sure you watch all three. Wait, did I say winners…plural? I guess I did. Check it out.
Have a great Super Bowl weekend.

Grats to Rishi and Lexie!!
Awesome workout, Kevin. Thx for the videos, man.
im expecting to see plenty of photos of Lexies transformation…gotta see these gains
i know Levrone is getting his Mack on
This was tough kevin, full blown like the old days!
congrats to rishi and lexi, hit it hard!
Kevin Levrone, back on the scene baby!! Not goin anywhere, so all you whiney ass bitches can keep yourselves in check!
That was probably the best post so far for me, lots of detail and was good to see you train with coach. Thos “pop offs” look killer! I was with you on those buddy.
And congrats to Lexie and Rishi, was gutted I never won but I knew there were people who deserve it more than me so I’m happy anyway. Still get a gift
hope its one of those new t-shirts, or the formua, that would be cool.
Thanks for the work your doing Kev, this was great viewing and I look forward to the next one
Peace
This was some good stuff!Congratualations to Rishi and Lexie! I thought Lexie might win. With Kevin doing what he has been doing I will just keep trecken along. This blog is tite.
Yeah, to all of you that made a video and didn’t get picked, I just wanted to say good job. It does take a lot of guts to put yourself up on youtube.
Hang in there and let’s see how this next chapter unfolds. Should be interesting.
BEST POST EVER!
Lexie and Rishi, congrats, good luck and enjoy!
Kevin, this was imo the best video or actually set of videos since you started the Levrone Report. You seem even more motivated then ever and your shape is insane! Muscular like never before and clearly getting more ripped by the week. Clearly visible by looking at your face.
Coach Dan: when I saw your first video with the squat supporting a couple of months ago, I wasn’t really liking it. But what you’ve shown us these last weeks is SUPERB! Respect and I’m definitely incorporating some of your excercises in my own workouts.
Congratulations to the winners! I wished for it, but i realized that there are people more deserving it than me. And as far i can tell, they definiatley deserved it! And i was so shocked to se a girl, but its awsome, it was a well deserved winner, i mean this brings the community so much closer! Anyways i also got to thank kevin for even giving us this chance, and besides not placing 1 and 2, were all still winners! Thats all we need to hear, and to top it off saying gifts? what are we to expect but nothing less then best!
Anyways I hope best wishes to Richie and Lexi and have a great year of oppurtunities to build your ideal physique, and please keep us informed of your progress. Myself is getting started in my third week of chicken and broccoli 2-3 times a day, andrew nutritional program. been making solid strenght gains so far on the routine.
a couple days ago i banged out 200 lbs seated rows of 6 reps.
1 year under the belt, and weight at 165 lbs, height at 5’5. I am quite impressed! I’ve got a physique pictured, and i will stop at nothing!
Also forgot to say. it really motivating, to see kevin Motivated!
Thanks for showing us this videos, and explaining what and why your doing. I takes alot of gut “balls” to be in the gym, acting like no ones there, and just talking! Its a real effort and if i could reward you in any way i would! And Coach dan, your the man! After i build a soild foundation, i am going to try out these core exercises, because if i ever start a fighting sport, i know where to look for some secrets!
All these videos is a golden treasure chest kevin, “Ya aarr” and thanks kevin for sharing. You are the Bodybulding Robin Hood!
Now continue getting ripped and cut! I want to see som pictures when you consider yourself done!
Congratulations to the winners! Thay deserve it
yeah… good luck to the lucky two.
i’m changing my workout routine monday. i liked very much the working all the pressing muscles in the same day. very cool for the tricep.
in fact my goddamn tricep grew quite a bunch(for my standards) and one of the main things that helped was the cable pulldowns. really, i hear so many people saying it wont do #$%& for your tricep, blah blah blah, but it worked wonders for me.
Congratulations to the winners and those who are not elected I want more luck next year.
I’m glad he was elected big guy and a girl. There will be tips for all.
Kevin you were great yesterday. Full of motivation and willpower!
Just continue like this!
Thanks coach Den
And thanks guys who sent comments!
I read a lot of useful stuff!
Loved all of it. Them twists were too tough; I got 4 in today. Craps hard to do.
Great videos, Kevin. Proving those who questioned there was nothing left to show wrong. Great choice of winners, Glad to see we are going to see a fitness athlete getting advice to enrich the value of this site, Hope you keep printing the details and congratulations to, Rishi and Lexi.
@ Coach, since the earlier squat spotting comments here I think you are starting to convert those sceptics. Its an honour to glimpse a part of your world, motivating and inspirational. Keep up the good work.
Hey Kevin!
I will try your triceps routine next week.
Do you realy think i can gain some muscles with that amount of reps (15-20)?And why do you think it is better than heavy weights with 6-8 reps?
Thank you and keep up your great work. I learned alot from you
great Kevin, you keep coming back stronger and stronger!
and thanks once again for opening my eyes to building the lean mean spartan physique! i’m sure that is the way to go if you want to succeed in as many areas in life as possible.
and oh, Kevin, i hope you’ll be able to focus on the right things when coaching Lexi..i’m just worried you’ll start visualizing the wrong things…
@Lexi : i think it’s really cool there are girls in here as well, i had no idea….you seem to be just as hardcore as anybody in here,i’m sure you will prove that when time comes
Hi Kevin and coach Dan.I everytime check LevroneReport, first time so sorry, because my language is ni good.I am from Czech republick.
I think make a come back, you looks great.Have good days, your big fan Vladimír.
hey kev great post man, awesome workout
im thinking with my own training, because ive been trying out a fair few different routines, i think ill do chest/shoulders/tris, back/bis, legs etc throught the week but each time ill shock a different muscle
like monday smash my chest and go light on shoulders and tris then another day smash another muscle
anyone who has trained like this let us know if you think is effective to add some mass or should i work each muscle at the same intensity?
any suggestions would be appreciated
R u kidding me with those popups bro? That’s the best thing I’ve ever seen on utube, baby. You are an inspiration to everyone.
Coll videos, Kevin. Also, congrats to winners! I didn’t wanted to participate as I know there are much more people who need it more than me.
@Adam: If you ask me -- the trainings Kevin Levrone doing these days are just for keeping the same mass while losing body fat and getting shredded. So, he isn’t concentrated to gain muscles, as it is impossible while in process of definition. It is, rather, maintaining mass. For gaining mass, you need weights and totally different training regime.
Question for Kevin: Did you go to Gym right after the cardio (running)? Or you got back home, food, rest and than Gym? Thank you for your answer.
Coll should be Cool. I just noticed that.
I agree with most of the guys, this was the best post ever KEvin!
20 minutes of Levrone-style training made my day.
I will try those pop up´s, though my wrist hurt when i see you jumping back to the floor wit your hands
Congratulations to the winners. Good choice and nice that this stuff is even inspiring some women.
@ Coach Dan
I did the 6-twist and it is a good excercise. Also the last shoulder exercise does make sense imo. But wouldn´t it be possible to do this with two dumbells? However i will try it anyway.
Have a nice weekend everybody. Bye
Yo Kev you know how I feel about you, ,ya the man and the Coach one arm smith shoulder workout is the bomb, I’m a big fan of shoulder and trap tie in workouts, so I think it’s totally awesome, that I now have a different approach. THANK YOU!!!
All the best to the winners and most of all, buckle your seat belts you two because Kevin seems to be really expecting a lot of dedication from you
As for the videos, awesome! Thank you from bringing coach Dan to the plate. I really do like his approach as he thinks out of the box of conventional routines and he can explain the why and how to execute properly. I think it would be cool to have a video from coach Dan explaining his professional background and such. Just an idea.
Actually, my assumption is that he’s a boxer and/or boxing coach (hence his name). I could very well be off but that’s my assumption based on his physique attributes, his core building techniques, and his drive. Am I wrong?
Four miles in the rain… That’s dedication… The good thing about bad weather is you have most of certain roads to yaself… It’s the same on my ‘circuit’ apart from fishermen… Those guys are as insane wrt their ‘sport’ as us Levronians… Only snow and ice keeps them away, hehe… Same in my gym… The worse the weather the less people in the gym… Last week it was icy and slippery on the roads, so I got out early and hit the gym… I felt disappointed for not bringing my camera… None in the gym, apart from a few oldtimers who practically leave nextdoor ehhe. And they use the cardio-equipment to sit on and chitchat to others…
Congrats to the winners. It was a hard choice and I have no doubt in my mind that it’s the right one… Keep it up!
leave=live
First off gratz to Lexie and Rishi.
And man, Kevin.. that was a hard workout-day you just had. It was unbelieveable to bring up the effort to, after the canyon run, still bang out all that in the Gym. Much props.
Also that shoulder exercise coach Dan explained seemed pretty intense, but I think it’s very easy to get injuries from it if you don’t know what your doing precisely.
And the pop-off, you were having a hard time on the last ones. Nice job
Possibly the best video’s thus far.
Hi KEV !
First of all, YOU’RE A LEGEND ! That’s the only thing to say !
Secondly , i think you made a mistake on the 6 TWIST because Coach Dan said that ONE TIME LEFT = 1 TWIST and ONE TIME RIGHT = 1 TWIST.
Why are you making 1 TWIST = ONE TIME LEFT + ONE TIME RIGHT ! You are making twice more twists than coach Dan !
Maybe that’ s the real difference for being a Champion !
France love you man !
i like that last shoulder exercise.. i used to do one arm floor presses and one arm rows in a smith machine like that. i didnt turn sideways for the floor press i just did it laying normal though because i couldnt turn sideways there wasnt enough room. i bet doing that last shoulder exercise standing up instead of seated and standing online on the opposite leg would really bring in your core and balance i might see if i can incorporate that once in awhile. my absolute favorite though is to lay on the floor under a smith machine with my arms locked out like the top of a bench press but instead of them being locked out over yoru chest they are locked out about midway down your stomach in order to perform a full range of motion and while keeping the arms locked sit all the way up to the point where the arms are still locked but now in the top position of a shoulder press. it really helped build up my core strength and allowed me to become more flexible and i was finally able to do some decent weight in the barbell overhead squat. also if you try this exercise dont forget to lock your feet under something like when doing a sit up. it strengthens just about every mucscle in your upper body and gives you some pretty good hip flexor power to. or course the weights probably will be next to nothing i only have used 10lbs on each side of the bar for about 10reps on that.
@Nico from Paris
hehe i also noticed this and thought the same: Kevin just makes i more hardcore than it already is^^
I´ll be rowing tomorrow about 14 km. Should be good for overall endurance and cutting
Hi kev ,sorry for my english i Come from France ,you look very great now i happy see you like this, you inspire me when i go to the gym, thank you so much.i order your new Tee shirt i hope have soon,by!
Looking huge Kev, love the guns!
Awsome Kev
Kevin,
I stumbled across this fantastic site a couple days ago, and I can’t get enough. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge in regards to bodybuilding, and who better than you to “fill my cup”.
I carry an immense amount of respect for you -- always have. All of us should count our blessings that we have someone such as yourself, give us a peak into the life (in my opinion) of the best bodybuilder of all-time.
I’m 41-years-young, and am honored and proud to watch you “get after it” my friend.
Keep on keepin’ on brother -- you’re the man!
Respectfully,
Gary
Congratulations to the winners, I just know that Kevin will be able to guide these two individuals onto a training routine that will see them achieve there goals just like i am achieveing my goals at this time. Its a pleasure to think i am one of three people in the world that is being personally trained by Kevin levrone, but the way i see it is on the levrone report everybody helps everybody i am proud to be part of this community as Rishi said in his winners video this is a home away from home for many people
Wow, thank you Kevin for this opportunity!!! I really am speechless, words cannot describe how I’m feeling but as usual more fire to inspire will come of this:) Congrats to Alexis and thanks to everyone as well. We’re here Andrew to join you on the roster of champions. We’re all in this together, each and every single one of us from all around the world. I’m ready so here we come…
I got your message on Youtube Rick from Fresno, appreciate it brother. Thanks for the inspiration from your videos & comments, keep them coming.
Btw I added the 6 twist into my current routine and it’s no joke. It is very important just as Kevin said to be grounded like a tree. Peace and God Bless.
31 inches of snow in Maryland today….sucks!
HEy Kevin, the report in getting better and better. Keep it up! Full Blown
31 *inches* of snow, in one snowstorm?? Ouch! Here in Montreal we’re reasonably used to snowstorm but I wonder how the city would cope with that much!
It was a rainy time when Kevin ran but I can not believe that now is so much snow in Maryland!
Maryland is shut down cause of the snow……..hopefully can get to gym monday………Kevin, need some California sunshine!
” l00k at my shoulders coach” … LOL. very nice. I’ll try that exercise this week.
congrats to the winners….Kev.. that was awsome dude…love that shoulder move definetly giving that excercise a go…thanx kev, G.O.A.T. PHILLY POWERHOUSE BABY!!!! I HATE SNOW…
man awesome. thanks for sharing, i’m motivated like never before, gonna run to the gym and bang this out harder than ever. thanks kev.
yea.. COME on peeps lets blow this up!
Wow, thank you Kevin for this opportunity!!! I really am speechless, words cannot describe how I’m feeling but as usual more fire to inspire will come of this. Congrats to Alexis and thanks to everyone as well. We’re here Andrew to join you on the roster of champions. We’re all in this together, each and every single one of us from all around the world. I’m ready so here we come…
I got your message on Youtube Rick from Fresno, appreciate it brother. Thanks for the inspiration from your videos & comments, keep them rolling as w/ everyone else:)
Btw I added the 6 twist (kudos Coach Dan) into my current routine and it’s no joke. Our core is so very important and just as Kevin stated of being grounded like a tree. On another note, great inspiration as usual Kevin running in the rain like that, there’s no stopping you bro…4 miles like it’s nothing along with that workout. Can’t wait to try the one arm split back barbell press.
I tried posting earlier and for some reason it did not show up so sorry if this comes up again. Peace and God Bless.
Thank you Kevin for making almost half hour of video and congratulations to winners!
I like your mixed exercises and i think many people will agree that that is the best way for making progress.
you guys ready to train?Blow this bitch out, come on Kev is local, get on the train.
As said by Nico_From_Paris, Kevin turned the six twist into a twelve no sweat, ok…maybe a little but thats a good thing. “If you have to do more than 12 reps, you may be doing something wrong,” says Coach Dan and he isn’t kidding. I can vouch for that firsthand.
I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with the Battle for Olympia discs, but I received one the other day that had Kevin back in the day training along Shawn Ray @ his muscle camp in Las Vegas. It also showed his ride which was a Lorinser S class w/ D93 wheels, I had the same one Kevin, although mine was an S500 with chrome d93′s:) You’ve always had a way with the camera and it was a great Dvd by Mits Okabe. Anyone who loves bodybuilding as such should check those out along with the Maryland Muscle Machine (M3) DVD.
congrats to you guys you did a great job. awesome!
great video kevin!
talking with 100 lbs dumbells up in the air haha!
ill be in the next youtube comp now i have my iphone missed out
keep the good work up kevin
peace
for sure u coudnt tell why they were winners hehe. I think me and Lexie could do some real efficient workouts in the gym too…
We dont have chicks like that here….
Anyway, i dont understand what coach is saying. Remember this is world wide now and the communications should be aware of that. Kevin is easy to follow, almost as easy as norwegian, but coach is running so fast in his words that is miss his points. Maybe thats great. Hehe, sorry Coach, ur ok and u spice up this blog!
Hehe Norweigian, i think we are lucky guys because Kevin doesn´t talk as fast as Shawn Ray. It is not easy to understand everything, Shawn pumpin out of his mouth
Grats to the winners and keep up the awesome videos Kevin! They are even more detailed than ever now.
@ Winners, CONGRATS! You guys have just been awarded an amazing oppurtunity!
@ KEVIN LEVRONE… Kevin, you are already bigger and in better shape than the natural Mr. Olympia!!! You would clean up the stage if you competed in the natural realm! Awesome vids man! I just cut 6 pounds myself and am now 5-9 and 219 heading to the Spartan section. Abs are starting to pop!!
Good luck all!!
@Emery: jeez, 5-9 and 219 with abs showing, you have gone past my ultimate goal man. i’m 5-11 and 200lbs, fairly ripped. my goal is 220lbs, ripped of course.
how much do you lift in the typical basics like military, bench, squat etc?
Good luck and grats to the winners! @Kevin, good work bro good to see you bangin it out again Levrone Style!
@Emery_RN — have you the 2009 natural mr olympia? i think kevin possibly could be a top natural but he isnt at the level of the natural mr olympia right now… no way. no offense kevin but obviously he knows that also because he isnt training for the type of body.
@Joe,
I have deadlifted 505, squated 500 and currently my 1 rep max on bench is 345. For now, the heaviest I go on deadlifts is 405 for 6 reps and 315 for reps on squats. I have been lifting for quite a while, and don’t do 1 rep max usually. I concentrate on working the muscle now instead of how much I lift and have made much better progress this way than by simply throwing up heavy weights. My lifts depend on where I am at with diet and how I am feeling. I know my body better now and know when to go heavy and when to go for more reps and less weight. Right now I am not lifting that heavy as I am mixing it up and cutting.
@ David P., I am talking about John Hansen. Check out this link.
http://www.rippedacademy.com/john_hansen/gallery
I think If Kevin dieted for contest he would surpass this fella easily! I don’t mean any disrespect for John Hansen but I think Kev is way more of a natural freak than John H.
@emery- i know who he is i have his natural muscle dvd. you didnt say if kevin trained for the natural olympia he would win you said he is already ahead of the natural mr olympia and that isnt true. maybe eventually he could but as of right now he isnt.
Hey guys. I have just been to the store and bougth myself some new free weigths. With these little babys i can build some 150 pounds dumbells which I intend to use for decline dumbellpress and bent over dumbell rows before the spring comes. Im not there yet, but i will. U trust me on that. I can manage 130-135 pound dumbells on those exercices today and when i reach the 150, i will return to my old gym and impress the hell out of everyone.
Why i go for decline?. Well, u see, u gotta decide how your muscles flow. My shoulders are “high” compared to the pecs, but using declines clears away this lack of good genes. Kevins flow on those areas is perfect, cause he can just lower the bar lying straigth and the movement flows straigth on his pecs.
Why i focus on the dumbell rows?. Well, after watching the pros. I saw Shawn Ray do dumbell rows and done like he did it was a perfect, very long, movement, straigt on the lats. With barbell the movement is shortened.
But enough talk, its time to put my goals to the test and hit the babys lying on the floor rigth next to me. And i here there are some new youngsters at the gym who have to be put down because they think the guys from the 80s-90s are lost……as if
hey Norweigian, how are you going to do decline at home, alone?
i’m asking because i always have to ask someone to hand me the dumbbells
anyway, go strong on those weights!
Kevin,
Man your videos are truly an inspiration. I have been progressively getting stronger and training along with your transformation videos. I think this is a real quality blog and I thank you for all the time you are putting into this to help other people who aim to get healthy.
Kevin, I am working on a website: http://www.bulkhogan.com where I provide articles and interviews with a lot of fitness people.
If you check out the expert author’s section you will see we have a lot of physicians, Jim Stoppani, and the DietDocs contributing to the site. I would love to feature your blog on there. Please let me know if you are interested!
Congrats to Rishi and Alexis!!! I didn’t get picked but happy they won, it looks like a good decision. Some of the other videos were really good as well. Kevin, thanks for the opportunity and the kind words and gift?
Rishi, I’ll be following your transformation very closely, I’m exactly like you!!! 2 years ago I was a small 130lbs at 5’9″ and now I’m up to 180lbs. Really looking forward to your diet and training program, I might tweak it a little bit if we don’t have the same weaknesses but will be very interesting! Keep us posted man…
Anyone else notice the dumbells in video one are NOT 100lbers but higher?
@AlexKid, will do. Would be an honor. Btw what kind of transformation are you on at the moment?
Coach knows his shit! but he aint advanced in the physical sense, maybe if you let him use all bodyweight exercise then he is, but give him some heavy ass weight’s and we’ll see! but im guessing that aint is his thing, and he can probably do alot of stuff that a gym rat cant! + & -- for both! some where inbetween is ideal!
yea coach does know his shit
he looks really wirey, like really fast and explosive
bet hes bullshit ripped and strong with his own bodyweight
I’m gonna try some of the new techniques this week… the 6 twist tonight and the pop off with chest tomorrow, they look intense. good videos kevin.
Popoff’s after chest…………..I think, maybe, i’d manage 3 reps. Looks brutal as a finisher.
Congrats to both winners.
Hey Lexi, don’ forget to submit plenty of ‘before’ photo’s ……….you know, so we can compare at competition time.
Kevin, Please tell Coach that the core exercises are just what the doctor ordered for my sons that are baseball players. They have been lifting weights, but they needed that extra core training because the core is such an important area for baseball players. Thanks Coach.
And what the heck is “training the core” anyway? Ive been around for over 20 years and never heard of it. The coretraining ive seen is just overall exercises like deadlifts and squats.
Training the core is very “watery”. The word core often refers to the backbone, like the fiber optic cables thats connects two main LANs in computer networks. But in the human body i really dont know where ur supposed to find the core muscles. Lower back and abs?. Thats the core? So doing good mornings and sit ups is all there is to coretraining?? I think all u need to do to work your “core” is to run a good old fashion 3days on one day off bodybulding program with wellknown exercises. As simple as that.
And I think the frase “core training” is just a way to try to go basic without doing bad to the bone old fashion deads and squats.
mik; i bougth myself a cheep made in china benchpress with seat lowering possibilities. It goes incline aswell. There are some pretty ok equipments around u see. U dont have to buy from the same stores as your gym does when it comes to making a homegym.
@ norweigan
core refers to the entire mid section: internal/external obliques, rectus and transverse abdominos and all the muscles of the lower back
ive always maintained that doing heavy squats and standing exercises is a great core workout, doing the 6 twist is a way to increase mobility and stability
just different training for different goals
@ Norweigian, the core in sports is pretty paramount especially if you want to last long term, For you maybe because you only seem concerned in bodybuilding you lack certain variance. Think of the core as your entire midsection, swinging a baseball, kicking a football or throwing a punch requires good core strength to maximise output. The best misconception for me is a high sidekick (above head height), say you have the flexibility to go high but lack strength in the muscles around the hip joint and midsection like the serratus ect you can suffer from lack of power, proper control as a tendancy to lean back to exploit the flexible muscle can happen and most of all in an explosive movement increase hugely your chance of injury, more so over repetitve movements.
Coach is good, if what he does is not for you I doubt he will lose sleep over it but if open your mind you may accept his teachings are good for not just for beginners but also bodytypes different to say your own that maybe more resistant to injury in basic movements, and possibly an ignorance when it comes to such tecniques. Think of the midsection as a complex joint (just an example, no debate required) which can move in many directions, just training the abs for the ultimate core will not cut it, as a bodybuilder would you train a complex joint like the shoulder rotor cuff by just training front delts and be confident it will do the job for the whole joint, front, side and rear?
i was always told the core included everything excluding your arms and legs… so you chest back abs all the is your core… but to go in depth even further i think it means the core stabalizers that rarely get trained with these muscles. so strengthen the core(stablizers of the center of your body) and in turn strengthen the main muscle itself allowing it to perform its natural function easier. many people just call the abs and lower back the core. then again you hear all the time to train with the core movements (basics) like bench, squat, deadlift, military press… i could see how those exercises work the stablizers and also the ab/lower back making both groups of people that consider the core different ways happy. so the 6twists works the abs/lower back function of the core, then the side to side pushups or whatever they called it kept the and and back tightened working them and then also worked all those stablizers in the upper body… so they are actually including just about everything definition of “core” in only a few exercises. the lower back, abs, shoulder joints, elbow joints etc are all being worked in an unconventional way but allowing the muscles to strengthen in a new way that in most cases cant be done with deadlift, squats, bench, overhead press. i guess you could just call it a more sport specific or functional type of training
@chris and penwell, nice one, educational stuff
@chris and penwell, nice one, educational stuff
@ Adam, I agree in the concept. The problem as I pointed out in a previous post is the matter of support used for the midsection during compound or heavy weights. In effect your training your upperbody and lower body whilst restricting developement of the midsection by means of belt, machine or supporting frame. So have you considered in effect you have trained your upper and lower body by exposing them to maximum external effort yet held the midsection back by limiting its exposure to that stimulus so training the midsection seperate makes sense as a heavier upper and lower body will increase strain on the midsection which if weak is just the lower back which is really just exposing your spine.
Just a different view point.
Just watched worlds strongest man coz I missed it
can’t believe Pudzianowski or Poundstone didn’t win it fs I’m well gutted
Aww well I guess Savickas deserved it ha Poundstone ftw this year then!!!
This shit is fucked up!ahha these guys do have core strength!
[youtube
ok moving on…there are about 50 different view points on core strength on here. i think i have enough info. next subject.
now that is deadlifting: wonder if he ever trains his core, Coach-style
he makes me proud to have norwegian genes in my body (my grandfather was from Norway).
“EEEEAASYYY!!”
this guy is actually one of the few guys in Norway who can come close to the Norweigian when it comes to lifting…but only just….
This site has turned into the most boring site ive ever read. Who cares about the fn coach and his fn core strength. How long are we going to talk about this. This site was great when Kevin was pushing himself to accomplish something. Now it is fu%^ing boring! Bring back some intensity. I dont even see half of the guys commenting on here like i used too. What happened?
COACH-STYLE………….WHO CARES. Just my opinion….thats all.
i think coach is bringing some good stuff to the table and he will continue. i agree though that this core topic is going a little to big for my interest. coach is probably going to only be bringing core concepts every video because he doesnt look like a bodybuilder just a personal training. maybe the kind of personal trainer that likes to invent new things about have people try all the time. atleast he isnt pushing the damn swiss ball that thing annoys that shit out of me
my last post didnt seem very well laid out… i know this is about kevin’s goals so im not slammin on that. im just saying i didnt log onto this to talk about kevins core strength haha. i missed the first few transformations and didnt hop on until the bench press challenge. i was looking forward to seeing some more challenges like that one that i missed or even some new strength challenges. this blog went by way to quick to all of the sudden jump down to a 220 spartan physique. i was hoping to maybe see some specialization training like bicep size or something along the strength challenge side like the bench and squat… i’m not interested in this concept whatsoever though right now. coach just seems like the typical personal trainer trying to push up core strength on everything. i understand its very important and it taps into kevins overall goals but again… i’ll just have to check back later for some new challenges hopefully.
I love these new videos! I too am trying out the higher rep higher volume training. It gives me an insane pump! I have not been focusing as much on the amount of weight I lift because it has become an obsession with me and I have pounded my body way too much already with heavy weights.
My core is much stronger than I thought, so I may need to find some exercises that tone it up more than just getting stronger. The six-twist is a great tool for shaping, but I still feel that it doesn’t give me enough resistance.
I think that I will try to stick with this newer approach for 1 month and then return to the heavy stuff. All the time I am pyramiding my weights and reps to get the most out of each set.
Kevin, thanks again for all that you do for this online community. I will never forget your contribution! I may even mention your name when I win the next Mr. Olympia! lol
Good luck Brandon, thanks. @Everyone. Here’s a general thought: if you can’t say it in two or three sentences, it probably belongs in the forum. That way your point of view can be preserved and developed indefinitely instead of being snowed over by new posts. When you have strong opinions/questions about a given post I put up, feel free to start forum topics about it and then post the links here in the comments section.
I think the coach was great, the popups, the 6 twist, all good stuff. When it comes to this blog, take what you need, ignore the rest. I’m trying to arm you with a broad arsenal while also pursuing my own goals in a public forum. We’re moving on from core strength, there’s always something new around the corner in the endless transformation. Peace
Will you workout today Kev?
Amazing all these guys now whinging about this blog, even the core stuff only measures a small propotion of what the blog has delivered since its inception but things dont go your way for a while and you get bored then throw the toys out of the pram.
Insightful post brandon, great to see someone applying different tecniques and ideas and hope you reap the benefits from keeping the body guessing and not becoming stagnant aiming for your goals.
Pauly D. I read u and i follow u some how. The first trans was amazing. It could not last forever. Its been more boring every month since, but stil its great, i think. But we cannot expect Kevin to build muscles for us for eternity and posting 3-4 weekly update vids. Its not Coach who is the problem here, its the watery spartan goal for us hardcore bodybuilderfans. On last chest Kevin did 4 sets of 12 for press with weigths he could play around with drunk and he said it by himself. He didnt need more. With this approach the coachy thing is just the beginning of creative ways to work around the true bodybuilder way.
Yo Kevin, cutting down to 2-3 sentences will kill this blog, especially when the “core” will include more girly stuff aswell.
You`re the best bodybuilder with the biggest heart ever, but it doesnt make you a professional intercommunication expert aswell.
Peace bro:-)
Joe, some asslikin there, baby?. U got the pigflu again or what? Cause it was real easy to slip the ironi there. Really, i was a bit worried when i red your last note. little Joe turns Joe the goodguy. Doctortime:-)
Norweigian ahhaaahha
hehe, here we go again Norweigian. good old fight again on th steps. just be careful you dont fall in love with me now..
knowing your level of intelligence through your comments,it was expected that you wud slip the irony there..don’t worry dog,it sure was irony.
svend karlsen was a great strongman, and yes, he is from norway.but that doesn’t necessarily mean a complement to you.
as we all know, evry country has its shitbags. that includes norway..the comfort is that nature has its own ways to erase the shitty genes (the shitbags) through natural selection, survival of the fittest….and you aint the fittest oone in norway are you,LOL!!
anywas, i’ll leave you with a clip and a famous quote by Svend Karlsen at 47 seconds: You don’t have to be fat to be strong…..you should’ve followed your fellow countryman’s advice
Great going bro, hope you will get to win Olympia this time, m a big time fan of “THE KEVIN LEVRONE”
for so long and been following up with you since the time when you had one page website at http://www.kevinlevrone.com, and now when I have checked out your wordpress blog with your recent videos I am really impressed by your online presence, you are really great as a bodybuilder and as a rock star man
. I wasn’t training for quite some time but now im also going to start training and going to follow your routines
, please check out my training video too at:
Congrats to the winners.
Great videos Kev. You definitely look more shredded in just these past few weeks.
@Joe hahaahha I like this thing you and Norweigian have got going on its entertaining
@Poorwegian: Funny was just thinking the opposite about this program. Was a bit boring when it was hardcore, right. I like the mix now.
Kevin, what of a section on parkour/free-running, that would be lovely unexpected but i don’t put it past you. Show us how us big blokes can maneuver their arse around obstacles like Beast from X-Men, hey.
Unlike Norvagina, I don’t right see the need to watch you pound hardcore stones all day. That’s fun, too, but I get more out of the variety then.
Cheers from the UK, Britbomb inda house.
@mark UK, haha, yup; the show must go on
keep it up Kev, you’re all with you ..
I meant we’re all with you …
Cool videos as usual, Kevin. I think I’m going to make this blog my home page, that way I’ll know as soon as new videos are put up.
Does anyone happen to know who the moderator is on here?
@kris- i reckon kevin would be? why?
Hey Kevin I’ve been following your site and finally I thank you for posting info on cutting down. You feel left out because everything is about gettin big. Thanks Kevin for these cutting videos
Thanks for the response david penwell. I thought the same, but I think Kevin is the administrator and thought kenbo was but some comments haven’t been posting.
Yeah, we def need a mod here. Little Joe returns and somebody needs to shut his comments down. I thougth for a sec the child had grown, but believing in a warend for Afganistan should give better odds.
Anyway, enough Joe. I think we have another problem guys. The coachy core thing was better than nothing, but due to our attitude Kevin will not give us more fillins and then the gaps are growing.
yes, i have grown Norweigian, but not by much..maybe by 500 grams. you know, this bodybuilding game takes a long time. gotta take it step by step.
just hope for your health’s sake that YOU haven’t grown!! if you put on ANY more lard on that teddybear body of yours, we’re talking triple bypass surgery within weeks dude. …and let’s face it; LARD is all you’re ever gonna put on, weight-wise,with those shitty genes of yours…
but don’t worry dog, i think Kevin is a bigger man, than to let a few negative comments by the guys, and ESPECIALLY by dudes like you and me: one fat fuck from Norway and one ripped ladies’ man called Joe, ruin his posting plans.
he probably just laughs at it, if even that, and couldn’t care less about it….
@Joe, you need to shut up man! im sick of this shit.norweigian said enough so enough! why you always have to respond ?
@adrian: hello there nodding-puppet.
re-think who you’re critizising, MAN. Norweigian has been critisizing the whole community, and been whining since day one.remember, the only one i’ve been critisizing, is the biggest critiziser of them all: Norweigian.
and hey, i can actually understand that you are sick of the discussion between us two. but then at least have the desency to ask us both to shut the fuck up, and not just me.
he is the root to this riot in the first place..i just decided i had enough one day and answered back.
so give me 1 god damn good reason, adrian, why he should have the last word??
listen,in the beginning i was pissed with this joke of a character. but with his intelligence level, i actually started enjoying his pathetic attempts to strike me back…just relax a little doggy
Joe -- Be carefull you are becoming the very person you complained about.
Nor -- Be a man and leave this alone.
Not into this Spartan this right now but there are things I can learn that will help me in the future. And my wife is just beginning an excersice program alot of this program is relevant to her immediate needs.
Am i the only one that can see that Joe and Norweigian are only having light hearted banter? its not as if they calling each other motherfuckers is it? So lighten up Adrian!
And you Richard lighten up!
hey levrone when in a mass trans, is it better ti train one body part at a time or still train all pulling/pushing muscles together???? thanx.
I’ll go out of context from the thread but I just purchased Kevin’s Chest Quest audio program. Tonight is chest day so the timing is just right. I’ll let you know guys how it went.
Mmm interesting. I’m pre-listening the chest program to get a feel of it first and Kevin refers at about 8:05 to his Levrone Formula before the workout… is that an hint it’s about to come out real soon?
I certainly hope so!
Levrone chest quest……uhmm…..hints at levrone formula some people are gullible, but whatever you feel works for you. Music in my ears or Levrone……..music everytime!
Just realised theres gonna be chest, back, legs, tris, biceps..$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ hey milk it why you can!
BIG RICK-What gym ya’ll train at in MD..I live near the Glen Burnie area so it’d be great to swing by and watch ya’ll train!!!! thanks
Just listened to the whole chest program and I can’t wait already for the others to come out. I’m a lot into audio programs and purchased a plethora of them (coaching, self-improvement, etc.) and the format taken by Kevin reminds me a lot of Tony Robbins methods, offering active coaching as if he was standing by your side. Not meant for passive listening. This format forces you to stay focus on what is said, on the pace and to visualize the muscles involved, offering some tips and reminders down the road. Can’t wait for tonight’s workout and get into the zone.
@Mark UK: It won’t obviously be the cup of tea of everyone. And I don’t think either this is something you’ll want to listen to all year long but rather periodically, at key moments or when the workout routine matches the ones in the program. As with anything, see for yourself or just ignore it
Yeah! ignore it!
Yo Richard: i can see where you’re coming from dog. but i don’t quite agree with you. if you are new to this forum, i can understand that i come forward as a whiny bi-atch..but if you’ve been around for a while, you have seen how whiny Norweigian has been for 1 year now almost, when things haven’t gone his way, and he has been disrespecting numerous people in here for no reason…..then i came along and had enough of this poor excuse of a man.
you warn me to not become him; but remember the vital difference between us; he throws shit at whoever comes in his way, whereas i only throws shit his way, towards 1 person in the whole forum….
but mark UK is right on: at the same time this is fairly innocent, it aint as rough as it sounds…in my book anyways…..
and i am willing to cool it for a while……unless the N-man decides to kick me in the knee and punch me in the ear once again,of course…cause let’s be real,, then you can already smell what the J-man’s cooking
I think these coachingaudioclips is indeed something we could use in the gym for certain lagging bodyparts… I’ll get some clips too soon, but first need to up my paypal account again… The wife found it and now she’s ordering all over the place heheheh… And Kevin, when are you gonna put out some Levronereport hoodies or sweaters, bro???? Cant wait to order some of those, since I wear those all the time during workouts (gym and cardio)…
@Michel R, I hear you on the hoodies -- was going to bump the subject up.
Winter fast approaching here and I need a hoodie -- Levrone style!
@ Kevin Levrone, it stated awaiting moderation for comments. It’s been a few days, please advise on this. Thanks
THAT DOG ALMOST HAD U LEVRONE HAHAHAA =]
this post is really helpful. thanks a lot
There is so much obestiy in America and it merely seems to me that this is perfect for anyone who is obese.
Whats the difference between 16mm film versus frame-by-frame? I don’t see any differences…
